The Fiberglass Staff Gauge Water Measuring System SM
Across America the water flow rates and the height of water in reservoirs is a great concern to communities. Water is a natural resource that will not be forever available at the same levels. We are all hearing more and more about water conservation and the" Agua "signs that are held up by migrant workers in California due to the shortage of water for growing the vegetables and fruits they traditionally have picked and made a living on.
Virtual Polymer Compounds, LLC also known as VPC Fiberglass is at the for front of the water conservation movement with the development of the products that both measure and guide the flow of water in our Water Shed areas and reservoirs across this great country. From Minnesota to Wisconsin to Colorado their measurement devices are assisting Water Shed Associations and others to measure the water levels and to understand the dynamics of flow.
The Fiberglass Staff Gauge that they have manufactured is available in a multitude of colors for easy viewing, in sizes so the full picture can be show and in lengths so a staff gauge can measure any depth of water accurately. A staff gauge that is twelve inches wide and yellow in color might be needed in an environment that was white or for a snow melt measurement requirement. It would need to be wide because the distance might be as much as 100 yards away and the 6 inch width would be just too small. Also the number on the gauge can be as high as eight inches on a twelve inch gauge.
Generally the area that is being measured will require several gauges at different segments of the body of water. The flow entrance and the exit for example will likely have different heights that will need to be measured. What every system of measurement needs is also the understanding that weather and even chemical reactions will not destroy the Staff Gauge. For that reason VPC Fiberglass has developed a fiberglass backing that will assure assure longevity and lifelong wear.
