The career of Diego Velasquez as a master painter was made brighter by producing many pieces which were unparalleled during his era. One of his numerous famous artwork was The Surrender of Breda which he created after he had the pleasure of meeting the Marques de Spinola; needless to say, Spinola was amazed at the amount of details and the way that Velasquez was able to capture the expressions of emotion of the subjects in the artwork. However, Diego will pursue art and he would produce an artwork that would be more famous and more brilliant than the Surrender of Breda, he will be widely known for his piece called Las Meninas or The Maids in Honour; The painting is said to be the most sought after piece in the world and until now most people visit Spain just to see this wonderful work of art.
Diego Velasquez can really be identified as one of Spain’s national pride because of the fame of the artworks that he made and the impact it made on painting as an art form.
