Tourist Attractions in Khajuraho Revolves Around Temples Architectural Beauty
Khajuraho – the land of architectural delight is known worldwide for its temple architectures. Temples in Khajuraho remains unique in the world because of erotic saga which was crafted out of stone by the Chandela Rajput kings of Central India. It is a small town located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh visited by scores of tourists round the year. Adinath Temple:
This is an important Jain group of temple which was built in the 11th century and dedicated to first Jain Tirthankara Adinath. It is a lavishly decorated temple with beautiful sculptures built during the reign of Kirtivarman. The temple is built in the shape of 'sapta-ratha' and the single tower 'shikhara' which provides a graceful look to it. The wall of this temple is decorated with the sculptured images of yakshis, court scene and happening of daily life. The elegancy of these beautifully carved images fascinates tourists most during their visit to this temple.
Parsvanath Temple:
This is among the Eastern Group of Temples in Khajuraho famous for its elaborate sculptures and elegant design. It is one of the famous Jain Temples of this region built by the Chandela King Yasovarman and his successors. The temple is known for a couple of axial projections at the two ends known as the ardh mandap (hall) to the east and a small shrine behind the ‘garba griha' to the west. This temple is famous for its elaborate carvings and detail sculptures of elephants, lions, sea and celestial nymphs in various postures. Apart from these sculptures walls also bears the images of Hindu Vaishnav deities.
Kandariya Mahadeo Temple:
This is among the most famous temples of the region known for its delicate and intricate sculptures that fascinate tourists during their visit to this place. It is built on symmetrical lines rising to the height of 30 meters. This temple is known for construction pattern which has linear series of access-steps facing the east-west directions. Other features of this temple are columned halls with balconies, entrance porch, inner sanctum and wall adorned with more than 646 statues which mesmerize tourists when they visit this piece of human marvel.
The glory of stone sculptured beauty depicting the various aspects of life makes Khajuraho temples a renowned place of tourist's interest. Round the year scores of tourists come here to witness the architectural saga which was leftover by Chnadela dynasty.
