East Bay vs Peninsula?
Moving to area and undecided about East Bay (Lafayette, Orinda, Walnut Creek) vs the Peninsula (Burlingame, San Carlos, Foster City).
Would love some input on family oriented communities, good schools, commute to SF (working in city), things to do, weather (how hot does it really get in east bay)...etc.
If those are your choices, avoid Walnut Creek. Orinda has some of the best public schools in the country, it should be your #1 choice. San Carlos is not that bad either, as is Lafayette.
Foster City and Burlingame are really crowded, with massive traffic, as I only pass though and don't know anyone living in either I can't say too much. I would not want them though.
I love Orinda, go there to shop and eat at a tiny Mediterran diner next to the movie theater. I love buying childrens toys there too, they have some really great stores. The town is really green too, and i love trees.
