Picking a schedule in the fabled City of Lights might seem daunting at first. Here's a brief list of some of the sites in Paris that are definitely must-see attractions.
The first thing you should probably consider doing is seeing a day tour of the city, since this can give you some more ideas of what would attract you personally. This will also help you get a general idea of the city's layout, so you won't be completely lost once you're out and about the city on your own. The first, most obvious choice is the Eiffel Tower. The tower itself commands an impressive view of the city. Make sure you check the hours the tower is open for the season you're visiting, as they do change slightly based on the season.
The Louvre is another obvious selection on any quick tour of Paris, especially for art lovers. There are over 35,000 pieces of artwork housed in this museum from prehistory to the nineteenth century.
The Notre Dame Cathedral is another great place to visit, and is open year round. Unfortunately, there is limited mobility access in most places. Not only is Notre Dame a great tourist destination, it's also free of charge.
Luxembourg Gardens is the largest public park in all of France. There are many statues, flowers, and fountains to catch the eye. Don't worry about the kids, either, as the park also hosts a number of great attractions anyone can enjoy.
Paris Plage is the beach in Paris located on the Seine River. It is run by the city of Paris and each year new attractions are added. It is free to go to the beach but each individual attraction has its own admission price.
