Women's Gifts: Bracelets Are Always Suitable
The past of the bracelet is covered in mystery. No one is aware exactly when and where bracelets stemmed from, but as long ago as the primitive Egyptians, women as well as men wore highly elaborate bracelets made of gold and embellished with precious and semiprecious gems. Other materials that were used in Egypt as well as throughout the ancient world were comprised of bronze, copper, wood, stone, bone and plant fibres. The pharaohs and emperors of ancient civilizations favoured bracelets that were quite detailed, and it's said that the charm bracelet was born at least 3000 to 4000 years ago. In the Byzantine empire, which controlled Europe and portions of the near East plus the Mediterranean region from around the fifth to fifteenth centuries, people favoured an ornate bracelet style that featured highly interlaced links. Such bracelets were typically comprised from silver or gold.

Further to the east, the Chinese invented elaborate gold bracelets decorated with jade starting from around 2000 BC. Chinese bracelets of this period were very detailed with images of animals, real and imagined, such as dragons and phoenixes. The pearl bracelet also originates in ancient China since quality pearls were plentiful there. From ancient times to modern times, China has continued to be the pearl and jade capital of the world. The Chinese also established the utilization of glass in bracelets. India, meanwhile, became an innovator in bangle bracelets. Indian bangle bracelets are quite vivid and have phenomenal bead work crafted from metal or glass. In India, women wear bracelets to indicate their marital status.
Bracelets in the 18th and 19th Centuries
Chain bracelets emerged in the 18th century, with Paris becoming the centre of jewellery trends. Gold was the favoured material and opaque gems such as coral were popular. The practice of wearing many bracelets on one wrist came about at this time. There also was a restoration of elaborate Byzantine styles. Also making an appearance was jewellery crafted from fine gold or silver mesh. In the 19th century, the Victorian influence led to jewels designed with sentimental value. Lockets and personalised jewellery were very popular.
Woman Gift -Modern Bracelets
Modern bracelets are generally embroidered with premium Swarovski crystals. Swarovski is a top-rate supplier of precision-cut lead crystal centred in Austria. Whilst bracelets created from gold and silver are usually preferred, less expensive bracelets are occasionally plated rhodium, a silvery-white metal related to platinum. Another well-known gem for bracelets is the pearl. Authentic pearls are considered very expensive, so fake pearls are often a sound choice. The best faux pearls come from Majorca, Spain, where the fine points of their creation are a closely held secret. Faux pearls are placed in finish coats to give them high gloss and lustre. Bracelets that combine faux pearls with crystals are especially attractive, particularly if the crystals are dipped in the "aurora borealis" (AB) coating that allows them to flash with rainbow colours.
