2010's Most Popular Decor Trends
Now more than at any time before, budding decorators have the opportunity to strut their stuff and show off their skills with do-it-yourself projects. Metals

Over at the Shabby Chic kitchen, a distressed wrought iron wall wine rack is sure to be a conversation piece.
Glamour will stay
Nothing will ever compare to Hollywood when it comes to style and glamour. Bobby Haines' Hollywood Regency nebula is expected to light up the decor world with more of its crisp lines, simple and brilliant furniture, opulent fabrics, and bold colors.
Green’s In
Increasingly chic buzzwords for 2010 will be "recycle", "re-purpose", and "re-use". Grass area rugs, bamboo floors, and furniture that, in another time, would have made its appointment with the city dump long ago, will be in demand. Expect consumers to be very willing to pore over the fine print in paint and other finishing products for anything that can’t be pronounced, it’s probably some harmful chemical.
Virtual Explosion of Color
There will likely be an explosion of colors for the home in 2010. Experts are not one in saying which colors these would be, but they’re certain color will take center stage in 2010, whether it is used in wooden wall art or captured in tree wall art against a neutral wall. ARA reports Pantone Color Institute as seeing lively colors and sophisticated, grounded hues with Fuchsia Red, Salmon Rose, Palace Blue, Lavender, Rose Dust and Vibrant Green. ARA describes Designer Andrea Vollf as speaking of "transforming an ordinary home into a living oasis using neutrals, especially warm and cool grays, along with bold accent pieces”, with Jan Hubbard and Candice Mathers reporting a rise in the demand for deep blues by clients, and Hubbard seeing “spice, bisque, toast and green/gold tones to create a warm ambiance"."Finally, ARA reports Susan Panteleo as putting her bet on yellow popping up in every shade from Sunlight to Dijon Mustard".
Little Sistines
A mural can transform any space, lending it attitude. Drab walls turn into instant conversation pieces punctuated with “ohhs” and “aahs” pretty much the way it’s done by visitors to the Sistine Chapel. There seems to be no stopping murals’ popularity. Technology has opened the floodgates - if your mind can conceive it, the murals people will make it. Metal wall decor go particularly well with murals.
Knock on Wood
Wood will remain popular as it has since Noah. From ceiling to floor you can jazz up any area with a big variety of wood and faux wood products.
