Should I put together an art portfolio when i apply to college, even if i dont want to enter an arts program?
I have been heavily involved in art at my high school.
Most recently I finished a life sized bust of my head
Im not applying to any sort of art school, Just basic colleges and a few liberal arts colleges
I might want to take some art electives in college but I dont know.
Ive done some pretty cool sculpture and photography projects throughout high school. Should i put together an art portfolio?
Yes, because surely the people outside the art department of your college will care about your art. Or if they don't, they just don't understand you, because you're an artist.
NO. No one but the art department cares about your art, and if you aren't majoring art, they don't care about your portfolio. They only want to see portfolios of art majors who will be in their program and may be getting scholarships from them. Why would they waste their time with yours?
