Why does metal Brass smell so strongly?
It's a very unique & potent metallic smell...there's no other way to describe it.
But why can I actually smell it, does it release micro particles? I can also smell it strongly on my hands after handling it, will my skin absorb it?
I only ask because I have a small brass owl - just an ornamental keep sake of my late grandmother.

A wine taster would say that all things give off micro particles eh? But with brass it is the uric acid in the skin that reacts with brass to give a strong odor. The uric acid provides ammonia in a small amount but we are very sensitive to ammonia NH4. You would be able to detect the ferimones from a male person and decide if you know them. It is my guess. At times of stress one can be more sensitive to smells and so the world is full of smells. The changes in your aura can make the nose say something smells like another item. Becoming more sensitive to things like the aura of a person will enable you to get a feeling from that person's emotions just by a micro radio signal. Still others can say they are sensitive to their invisible grandfathers and feel a guidance from them. All part of what makes us unique and then we like what we like.
