Museums Galore When Staying At Elegant Paris Hotels
A break in Paris will provide the opportunity for a holiday packed with history and art. This magical city is replete with iconic sites such as the Champs de Elysee and Eiffel tower yet the real delight lies in its many museums. There is something for everyone, whether its dinosaur fossils at the Natural History Museum or the famous Mona Lisa. The amount of entertainment means plenty of affordable and luxurious Paris hotels are available.
As one of the largest museums in the world The Louvre is home to a huge range of Western art, right through from antiquity, to the Middle Ages up to 1848, with sculptures and paintings such as Leonardo's enigmatic Mona Lisa! The principal sections are separated into:Paintings; Prints and Drawings;Egyptian Antiquities; Near Eastern Antiquities; Etruscan, Greek and Roman Antiquities.
Displayed in the Rodin Museum are works by great artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Camille Claudel, Monet and Renior, as well of course as the most important pieces by Auguste Rodin himself, such as The Gates of Hell, The Kiss and The Thinker. Rodin’s sculptures can also be seen at the nearby Varenne Metro stop.
Paris’s Natural History Museum acts as a research centre in addition to being a museum. The herbarium contains important species among its eight million plant specimens, and fossils aplenty in the Hall of Evolution. Being so popular, it’ll be a breeze to find a selection of nearby Paris hotels.
Any trip to Paris would be incomplete without a stop off at the Petit Palais. It houses the City of Paris Museum of Fine Arts and showcases a number of exhibitions, which have previously included the YSL fashion exhibit, the Tuck Collection of 18th century furniture and various collections by Rembrandt, Hubert Robert, Pissarro and Greuze.
There is a great range of Paris hotels on offer in the city centre, for example the Adagio City Aparthotel Buttes Chaumont, the Tamaris Hotel and the Pavilion Courcelles in the Arc de Triomphe district.
