First sentence - the comma after night in "Last night," is not necessary.
Second sentence - the comma after ago in "of days ago," is not necessary. "I talked to her dad" is OK, but it would sound better to me as "I talked with her dad," which implies her father was a part of the conversation and didn't just sit there listening to you speak.
